People are Bob’s passion… both those who are without Christ and for those who desire to learn and study the Word of God. Both Bob and his wife have a passionate desire to help people come to an understanding of a personal relationship with God through salvation in Jesus Christ, and then to disciple them in the grace and knowledge of the Lord, through teaching and exhortation of the Scriptures.
Before coming to Evangelical, Bob pastored in Lakeland FL for 15 years. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a minor in Bible from the King’s College in Briarcliff Manor, NY in 1973. He received his Master of Arts in Religion/Counseling from Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA in 2013. He was also the founder of a non-profit music and family ministry called Heart to Home Ministries. In this ministry he provided Christian concerts and marriage/family seminars. Bob’s start in ministry came through Word of Life as a soloist for founder Jack Wyrtzen in camps and crusades.
Pastor Bob is married to Patty Hart. Patty has been actively involved with him in ministry over the years. She is an author, conference speaker and Bible study leader. They have 3 grown children who are all in full-time ministry and one daughter who is currently enrolled in Liberty University. They have 7 grandchildren.
Paul was born in Ann Arbor Michigan and raised in southern Ontario, Canada. At the age of 17 the message of the Gospel was brought into his life by a new friend in a new high school. The Lord saved him as he listened to the gospel being proclaimed in an evangelistic baseball tournament. After High school he attended the University of Western Ontario where he received a Bachelor of Science in Geology. After a lengthy and unsuccessful job search he enrolled in the University of Calgary in Alberta. Before leaving to go West, Paul followed the Lord in baptism. The Lord began to work on his heart in Alberta and he soon realized that he would not be happy unless he was serving the Lord vocationally. He withdrew from that institution and enrolled at the New Brunswick Bible Institute (NBBI) where he spent 3 years studying the Bible and a fourth year doing continued studies and a pastoral internship.
It was at NBBI that Paul met his future wife, Heidi. Heidi also completed 4 years of studies at NBBI. They began dating in their third year and married Oct. 12, 2002. Heidi was born in Bermuda and grew up in the Evangelical Church with a strong family heritage. The Lord saved her at an early age in life. She has always had a passion for working with children and heads up the resource center. In their early years of marriage, Paul and Heidi served at Evangelical in a number of different ways including, Sunday school, Student Ministry, Camp, and Junior Church. Paul and Heidi entered full time missionary service with Word of Life Bermuda in 2006 and served faithfully for 8 years before transitioning to the pastorate. Paul and Heidi have four children.
Dinah O. Correia
CE Director Administrative Assistant
Born and raised in Bermuda, Dinah accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at the age of 12 years, on Port’s Island, during church camp. While in her late teen years, as she attended the Word of Life Bible Institute, counseling at the Ranch and Island, the Lord used the circumstances of a young girl from Brooklyn, New York, in Dinah’s life, to question life’s issues.
During the summer of 1979, on the Word of Life Ranch, she re-dedicated her life to full-time service. Following graduation from the Word of Life Bible Institute, and after coming home to work for a brief time and attending school for accountancy, the Lord led her to apply to the Child Evangelism Fellowship Leadership Training Institute in Warrenton, Missouri. After graduation and attaining her teacher certification, and after a nine month internship with CEF staff as a Teacher Training Instructor, Dinah also taught Good News Clubs in public schools, conducted backyard 5-Day Clubs and supervised the summer missions programs, as well as directed day camps and island-wide rallies. She accepted a short assignment to teach at the Maypen Bible Institute in Jamaica and Trinidad. In 1986, Dinah was appointed the local CEF Bermuda Director.
In 1988, Dinah was challenged to pray and consider joining her home church in a full-time position in the area of Director of Christian Education and Office Administration. In 1989, after 10 years of ministry with CEF Bermuda, Dinah accepted the position to become a staff member at The Evangelical Church of Bermuda, working alongside Pastor Richard Etner, until June of that year. Dinah has enjoyed 20 years of ministry to this present date, under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Richard D. Christen, where she oversees the Christian Education Program at the church, and manages the church office.
